As a clinical social worker with more than a decade of experience treating children and adolescents in an outpatient community mental health setting, I have witnessed the increasing tendency of the psychiatric profession to mislabel kids with emotional and behavioral difficulties (more often than not stemming from earlier traumas or attachment issues) with severe diagnoses such as bipolar disorder and to place them on a cocktail of powerful psychotropic medications.  I find this quite alarming.  I talk more about this topic in an artticle entitled, &quot;Suffer the Children.&quot;  The link is as follows:
