Alzheimer’s Walk for the Cure
Close to my heart:
My father-in-law and my father both deal with the ravages of Alzheimer’s and dementia. One of my closest friends also has dementia, which looks like an advanced form of Alzheimer’s. It is not easy to watch your loved ones fall backwards through time. Sometimes they don’t even know who you are, and it really hurts.
The annual Alzheimer’s Memory Walk is designed to make people aware of the disease as well as raise funds for research and care. More than 600 communities participate every year in support of family and friends who are dealing with the disease every day.
I encourage you all to give to the cause or walk for the cure. Either way, you would be helping people like my father, friend, and father-in-law get the care they so desperately need. Without your help, there is no real hope of finding a way to prevent or obliterate this disease.
