UGH I hated the visit with my psychiatrist today. I am going to switch. I went back over our entire visit in my head, and it just PISSED ME OFF more. Yes I said MORE. He didn’t listen to what I said that didn’t fit into the criteria for bipolar, he just put me in as… get this:

ULTRA RAPID CYCLING BIPOLAR

ummm… NO!

I know what bipolar is from extensive research and talking to the people who actually have bipolar about their symptoms. You, my sweet and wonderful readers, have shared in my journey to the one thing that encompassed my symptoms. You all know what I’m talking about.

I told him I don’t want to do the drug thing, but he is bound and determined to get me to at least LOOK at the drug option… but for BIPOLAR drugs. I told him I’m doing natural stuff and he is like “but it’s not regulated by the FDA” and I’m thinking, the FDA even puts drugs out and a few months later recalls them because they are unfit to be in our bodies. He (upon my insistence) gave me a stack of pamphlets about a load of different drugs. Then he tells me some of the side effects and what I would have to get done to check on my body systems… you know… to make sure the drug (or drugs) is not killing me. He was saying at least 3 have the potential to give me liver damage.

JESUS LORD GOD… are you flipping serious?

When he was doing that neurotic looking eye blink, he was discounting what I said. He gave me a worksheet I had to fill out to see if I fit the criteria.. For most of them I had to add notes in the margins. Do you think he read them?

Uh… NO. He just classified me without taking it ALL in. Every book on his shelf, every pamphlet for drugs, was for Bipolar.

Then when I questioned him even further into that… about borderline and how come he didn’t come to that conclusion, he ends up saying “their characteristics overlap and sometimes a person can have both”. The more questions I asked about the contrast between BPD and BD, the more flip flopping and squirming he did. He has to understand… I’m not some unlearned chick that will accept without a word or question what you say. You have to PROVE it to me.

He kept trying to make my symptoms bigger than they were. I would say I feel like I can do a lot of things on the upswing…he would keep saying “like you could conquer the world” and I said NO. He didn’t listen. That was all down the criteria line. UGH UGH UGH

Now I am switching my doctors. I just called and they are like “it’s a long drawn out process” >>> WTF??? SO WHAT. I have to change. He just is NOT listening. I have another appt with him in 2 weeks to talk about DRUGS, not about what’s really wrong. I don’t think that appointment will go well once I tell him he is dead wrong and why.

I called my friend, who is going through some issues of her own, and forced her out of the house to go out with me yesterday. We locked up the dog, got the kid ready, and headed out toward Deptford Mall.

We decided to hit Applebee’s for lunch, take a detour to Target for baby meds *my poor kid is sick*, and ended at Barnes & Noble where my son had a breakdown in his patience and I got a Caramel Frappucino. MMM

I feel much better because of the outing. We both needed the break *my friend and I* from the rigors of trying to stay sane.

It’s not a very good idea to go traveling without some type of backup plan for food. I am thinking about what I am going to do when I go to Texas and Puerto Rico, in particular. I need to make sure I have Organic food stores on my list of places in the area, or I might end up in some problems. Food does some interesting things to people’s moods. If you eat too many greasy foods, things happen to you. That’s why it’s so important to have a plan…

This site has lists of stores by state. I found plenty of places in New Jersey as well as Texas so that I won’t have to worry about suffering from food induced mood issues. I won’t have any problems getting the types of tea and supplements that will help my mood, either. I’m glad I was introduced to this guide.

I have been slacking like you wouldn’t believe in the drinking tea department. Yeah, I know, I am a tea connoisseur and I really should be drinking at least one cup of something a day.

Since I have stopped drinking tea so frequently, I have noticed a serious drop in my overall well-feeling. Green tea actually mellowed me and gave me a whole body healthy sensation. Oolong tea was good for that overall healthy feelings as well as making sure it pepped me up. I would feel pretty normal when I would drink the two on an alternating regular basis. I guess I just got tired of drinking the same teas every day just to ensure my mood would stay even. Stupid, yes. I am going to start again soon. I am just about where I am ready to do it again.

It’s a new site. I mean really new. They don’t have a whole lot of articles or information available right now. What they do have speaks of a promising future for the site. I was reading about Heatburn Remedies that could help my husband with his reflux, and the information is rather comprehensive. I am impressed by the potential for the site to grow radically in the coming months. The content is easy to read, well written, and chock full of information. For instance, I never thought of vinegar for heartburn. Check out the site, bookmark it for later, and make sure to keep checking back for more material. I have been told that they are going to be adding more content very soon.

keeps the blues away. I am so happy that taking just two fish oil pills evens out a stressful mood. I don’t always take them *as I have said before*, but when I feel down in the dumps, I pop two and I’m good in just about 20 minutes. Seriously, I never knew that these would work so well. At first I was only taking one, but one day I was so aggravated that I decided to take the maximum dose. What a difference. What a change. I am thanking God for these pills right now.

I have made a new friend and she asked me if I would check out her blogs. I found one that I particularly enjoy and thought I would share it with you all. Live Life has a list of articles that feature holistic health and healing. I was reading about the uses of tea tree oil. I would love to get my hands on some of that stuff. It is supposed to be close to a cure all. I also enjoyed Doris’ 13 favorite healing herbs list. There are a few on there that I had heard about but didn’t do much more research into their uses. You all know I am all about holistic healing. I am even looking into holistic pet treatments. Check her out, add her to your feed reader. It’s totally worth the read.
